Sports Massage, RMT
Alexandra Tanase is a Registered Massage Therapist in Vancouver, downtown.
Alexandra practiced and studied classical music in her hometown, Brasov, Romania, and continued her passion in Vancouver at the Lord Byng Arts Honors Orchestra playing both the violin and viola. Upon receiving a scholarship to UBC for BA Music, Alexandra realized her passion for massage therapy and holistic health, an industry her mother thrived in since her childhood. Her innate talent for massage therapy was realized when members of her orchestra complained of back pains after long hours of practice. Applying what she learned from her mother, Alexandra was greatly rewarded by bringing relief to the members of her orchestra. She then decided to pursue RMT school instead of music and go on a new path in health care.
She graduated in August 2011 from Vancouver College of Massage Therapy in Vancouver and has been practicing ever since. Her practice focuses on sports injuries for professional and “weekend warrior” athletes, overuse injuries, and motor vehicles accident injuries.
In 2015, Alexandra decided to go back to university full time and completed a Bachelor in Health Science in 2017 while working at her clinic. She later decided to continue her education and has been accepted for the Masters of Physiotherapy program starting in 2020. She is constantly learning and improving herself as a health care provider in order to deliver high quality treatment for her patients.
Alexandra’s dynamic background, both personal and educational, demonstrates a harmony between clinical science and holistic healing and is the platform from which she has launched her practice as a Registered Massage Therapist.
